Joel John Roberts is the Chief Executive Officer of PATH Partners, a regional nonprofit organization which helps communities across the US integrate homeless support services with permanent, affordable housing. PATH Partners currently includes five Housing and Supportive Service agencies, including: PATH (People Assisting The Homeless), Achieve Glendale, Gramercy Housing Group, PATH Ventures, and PATH Partners Associates.

Recognized as a leader on poverty, housing and homelessness, Mr. Roberts’ focus has been to modernize the support services industry so that organizations focus their efforts on solution-oriented outcomes when providing services to individuals in need, emphasizing strategic outreach, the development of comprehensive housing options, and the engagement of cross-sector partnerships.

In 2004, the Hollywood Entertainment Museum awarded Roberts the Legacy Award recognizing his leadership in both social responsibility and humanitarian achievement. In 2007, Mr. Roberts and the PATH organization were recognized by the UCLA School of Public Affairs as a community “trendsetter.” Recently, Affordable Housing Magazine highlighted Mr. Roberts’ leadership in the development of the Regional PATHMall, winner of the prestigious 2007 American Institute of Architects award.

Having served as the Chairperson for the LAHSA Advisory Board, Mr. Roberts is active in the Los Angeles community. He currently serves on the Emergency Food and Shelter Program board, the Bring L.A. Home Blue Ribbon Panel, and the Human Relations Commission in Long Beach, California.

Roberts is the author of numerous opinion pieces and articles on homelessness, as well as a book, “How To Increase Homelessness.” He is also the publisher of “L.A.’s Homeless Blog,” which facilitates interactive dialogue on how to solve homelessness through honest talk, strategic thinking and community engagement.

A Fellow of the Zero Divide Initiative, Roberts earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications at Cal State University, Long Beach and a Master's Degree in Cross-Cultural Studies at Fuller Seminary.
