Atta'ya Reed-Brown
Atta’ya is the Executive Director of Gramercy Housing
Group, a private non-profit corporation providing service-enriched, affordable
housing to single parent families.
Having spent a number of years in the field of human services and social work, Atta’ya has served a diversity of clients with the mission of improving quality of life and creating plans for success for any individual that she could. She has worked with families of all kinds, including developmentally disabled, and youth and families referred by DCFS, DMH and probation. These skills have assisted her in reviewing history, finding the gap, and then assisting persons with developing a plan and implementing it. She is no stranger to crisis intervention as well. Since college, Atta’ya has been working passionately and diligently full-time in the field of Social Services. Destined to be a Doctor (or so she thought) all of her life, Reed-Brown knew her destiny was to help people and save lives. It was not until college however, as she became more interested in the dynamics of people’s behaviors and choices, that she realized that there are more ways to save a life, than by operating on them. So with the dream of being a Neurosurgeon long gone, Atta’ya set out to improve the lives of children and families. Atta’ya is a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a major in Sociology and holds with a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. In her free-time, Atta’ya’s is extremely active in her church, Holman United Methodist Church, where she and her husband are Youth Directors, as well as an active member of the Jubilant Voices Choir. |
